UAE Smart Visa Application
On 1st of August 2017, the UAE Ministry of Interior announced that all types of visas can be applied by individuals by using a new online platform called “smart system”.
All UAE residents can now apply for entry visas for their immediate relatives in fast and easy way. The smart system is expected to decrease the hassle and time-consuming procedure of visa application.
In order to apply for any types of visas via the smart system, each sponsor is required to register using online smart system and create their own log in detail. Registration takes only a few minutes to complete.
Entry permits applied through the smart system can be generated in less than 30 minutes and the payments for any visa related applications can also be done via the new system by e-dirham card or debit/credit card. In the case of any rejection on the application, the money paid for the process will be refunded through the same mode of payment used.
It is important to note that only visit visas, tourist visas, and other non-employment visas can be applied by an individual. Employment visa must be applied by the hiring company. Nevertheless, any establishments are also welcomed to register themselves into the smart system to able to process visas for their new hired employees.
